Cincy Black Expo LLC is an organization celebrating black excellence, entrepreneurship, inclusion, innovation, and community.

  Our objective is to serve as an educational awareness 

initiative that aims to inspire and impower the community of Cincinnati to collaboratively enhance their quality of life. By fostering unity and cooperation, we seek to mitigate discord and imbalance within our community , while fostering positive health, mental health outcomes, healing, harmony and progress in Greater Cincinnati.

          Meet our board members

Malcolm Timmons

Board Chair

Strong organizational, communication, negotiation and leadership skills.  Detail-oriented, ability to manage multiple projects while meeting all deadlines, effective listener who respects other's opinions, works well with others at all levels of an organization.  Some of my history consists of the following. 

City of Cincinnati, Board  of Health board member I review and approve budget expenditures, attend local events concerning health issues.  Meeting with leadership team.  Upscale Events, LLC President/Event Coordinator.  Upscale events LLC coordinates elegant and upscale events for adults who are 35 and older. These events have been a platform to educate the community on various issues (e.g., health, political, current events, etc.)  These events offer the opportunity for small businesses to showcase their products.

  President of T & R Transportation LLC  provides non emergency     medical transportation.  Established in 2022. I also provide       entertainment consulting to many of the local social clubs and         various organizations (e.g.  A. Foxworth & Associates).

Linda  Timmons

Board member

Hi, my name is Linda Timmons.  I'm a retired teacher of 30 years within the Cincinnati Public School District.  I have over 30 years of experience as a caterer and an event planner.  I presently work  for Timmons Tender Care Transportation which is affiliate with Counseling on Aging/Home 52 as a driver. I'm a member with a nonprofit ministry (STLT) cooking and serving hot meals for the homeless community every Saturday morning.  My passion of service is to leave a smile on someone's face that has made a difference in their day.

Jenise Brassell

Board Member

Jenise Brassell has worked in the area of Diversity Management for many years at the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).  During that time Jenise created many trainings around diversity and inclusion.   In addition, Jenise developed team building criteria for the CDC.

 

Jenise retired from the CDC in 2019 and immediately followed her passion for helping others through wellness.  Jenise is a line dance instructor and participates in Detroit and Greystone Ballroom.  Jenise became the President of MetroCincinnati Dance Association in 2021.  Since Jenise became the President the MCDA has increased their partnership with Closing The Health Gap by being an ambassador and bringing line dance and wellness to the Cincinnati community.

Cathy Smith-Harper

Board Member

Cathy is a veteran modeling professional with more than four decades of experience in both runway and print modeling. Her notable contributions have significantly enhanced brand recognition and customer retention.

Board Member

Owner of Shades of  You, Designer Eyewear for ladies  & gentlemen since 2009 to present. Specializing in a large variety of attractive, sophisticated, unigue, exclusive, quality selections.  My motto is: it's always my pleasure to serve you.  Graduate of Xavier University where she works full-time in Corporate America for a local fortune 500 company in communications, media, quality assurance & technology.

Kathye E. Lewis Norman

Business Consultant

and community experience.  Skilled trainer and manager,

certified in professional development training courses designed to improve employee retention, productivity and leadership.  Long term volunteer and community leader and worker in the areas of business development, community and cultural development and technical skills development.

 

 

Karen Jones

Board Member

With more than 40 years of experience in the printing industry, I excel as a offset press operator.  My skills span across research, management, and website design.   Moreover, I have co-hosted numerous city events for diverse promoters and individuals in the entertainment industry, managing both national recording artists and local bands.
